Nice win, good strategic move for the team wide day off.

You think about how coaches pencil in points expected per grouping of games and
the reality of a brutal, congested last run to the playoffs. Nice work within the group and good overall management decisions on keeping the group together rolling to the playoffs. Except for spotting players games off over the last couple games if they have clinched a spot or seeding, it is important to stabilize the lines/d pairings going into the post season. I see the method here and am pleased.

Does anyone have a feeling how the Flyers and Rangers will do over the remaining games and what seeding they will end up with ? Home ice would be huge in the first round for the Flyers. But again, good teams win on the road. Sorry for the cliches but its that time of year

Dion Phaneuf is god awful! Glad Toronto is paying him 7 million for the next 6 years or so. I hate Toronto more then the next guy but there's a couple guy's I dump as soon as I can, from an outsiders POV. Phaneuf is one. Kadri needs to be talked too as well, no discipline. Rinaldo and Kadri are a little similar. I like Rinaldo but he has to be on the edge because he doesn't score, Kadri has offensive ability and needs to stop the stupid penalties. Toronto won't win the cup with Randy Carlyle as head coach! Toronto is far from Anaheim. I'm a JVR fan but where was he in that BIG game?

Moving vinny to center is a good move and giving him pp time on the wing make sense. He is a pro and understands he needs to play better. Shenn might need a couple of those games too.

Will he last his contract ? I thought to start the year he was the best layer on your team and now it seems like he could be bought out for a second time ? maybe not this year but a year or two down the road ? Also what do you guys think your biggest need is going into the draft ? another defense man in the first round or is there a trade that needs to be made ?

Our 4th line was one of the best lines all game too. However, I fail to see the point of moving Vinny to the 4th line if you're just going to reduce the minutes of the 2nd line to 4th line minutes.

Schenn really needs to find a way to get into the games. He doesn't have to score, but god is he invisible.

When they can roll four lines effectively this team does much better. It's good to see Rinaldo playing on the edge and not going over. Earlier in the season he took a step to two backwards and was a problem for the team.

They won't buy him out. Flyers are loyal to their guys. The free buy outs excluded.

At 4.5m I doubt the Flyers can find a player of his caliber in free agency with the potential to play atthe level he is capable of.

Nice 3rd period by flyers. Leafs neutral zone presence was awful. Sunday will be back to tight checking. Important night last night great for playoff chances

Let's sign that swede for the bottom 6!

I wish we could find a player with Reads offensive talent or more. Hate loving the guys the bring over and then they get rid of bc they can't score

I still miss Kukonen and Thoreson

I think Phaneuf is a much better player then that. He's in a funk like the entire team pretty much is. But situations like that, they need their best players to step up. I think the team has tuned out the Coach similar to how the Flyers did with Laviolette in the beggining of the year.

He's been very helpful in improving one of our biggest weaknesses: Zone-exits and transition.

On the whole, he's been seeing comparatively softer minutes, and he's been decent. There are times when he gets outmuscled or gets beaten 1v1, but still an improvement on Meszaros.

I guess the limited ice time has really helped him because playing 25-30 mins a game in NY, he looked horrible with everything. Is he playing on the PP?

Is he on the third pairing? I only got to see some of the Ranger/Flyer game, but i thought i saw him playing with Streit. Is he?

Technically he's on the third pair w Schenn, but he takes regular shifts with the other pairs depending on situation.

Lot of time at ES, but he doesn't kill penalties here yet.

He is more of a 2B, because the Flyers have been giving AMac increasingly more ice time the longer he's been here.

To be fair, everyone on the Islanders looks pretty horrible.

He's listed as third pairing, but he gets 2nd pairing minutes. He's been good for the team because they lack two-way defenseman. They finally have a guy, other then Timonen, who is solid in both ends of the ice.
